Berklee College of Music will present an honorary Doctor of Music degree to Ledisi at its 2024 commencement ceremony on May 11th at Boston University’s Agganis Arena.
The commencement festivities will include a concert at concern at the Arena with a global cast of over 200 student vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, arrangers, and track producers from the graduating class, who will perform a musical tribute to Ledisi’s acclaimed body of work.
Ledisi is currently celebrating the success of her recently released 11th album “Good Life” as well as the tour to accompany the project.
The ceremony will allow her to be celebrated and recognized for her invaluable contributions to the world of music and her philanthropic endeavors.
Berklee’s honorary doctorate recipients are recognized for their outstanding achievements and their impact on the music industry. Past recipients from the college include Duke Ellington, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones, Celine Dion, and Missy Elliott, among other renowned artists.
