Longtime creative partners and music icons Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton and Pharrell Williams have officially announced the launch of their new coffee brand, Grindin Coffee. Powered by a strategic partnership with the historic Italian roaster Lavazza, the new venture is designed to provide premium fuel for early risers, late-night creatives, and the everyday hustle.
The brand’s name pays direct homage to the duo’s breakthrough 2002 Clipse single, “Grindin’.” For Pusha and Pharrell, the concept was born organically out of their rigorous, early-morning studio sessions and intense physical training routines.
“P and I were waking up really early. Like 5 a.m. early,” Pusha T explained regarding the brand’s origins. “That was our routine. Alarm goes off at 5, we’re up, and the first thing we’re doing is black coffee or the strongest espresso we can find. That’s how we were working. That was the fuel. We’d be in the studio creating, locked in, just grinding. And then from there we’d go ride twenty-five miles on the bike. That was the whole rhythm: create, move, create again. Coffee was part of that whole cycle.”
Pharrell echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that premium coffee has long been a fixture in their shared creative discipline. “From making ‘Grindin’’ back in 2002 to now, it has always been about intention and focus,” he stated. “Coffee has always been part of that discipline. It has been in the room with us when we create. Now it has a name.”
Crafted by Lavazza’s experts to prioritize superior taste without compromise, the brand’s first offerings are available exclusively at www.grindincoffee.com. Both blends are offered in ground or whole bean formats and are formulated to be suitable for filter, espresso, and cold brew extraction methods.
Dark Roast: Sourced from Central America, South America, and Southeast Asia, featuring tasting notes of cocoa, caramel, and brown spices.
Medium Roast: Sourced from South America, delivering notes of bittersweet chocolate, caramel, and roasted hazelnut.
The high-output creative cycle powered by this morning ritual directly contributed to one of the most successful eras in the duo’s respective careers.
Those rigorous sessions yielded Pusha T’s acclaimed It’s Almost Dry and the recently released Clipse reunion album Let God Sort Em Out—the legendary duo’s first new album in sixteen years. Produced entirely by Pharrell, the project earned five Grammy nominations (including Best Rap Album and Album Of The Year) and secured the win for Best Rap Performance. That same evening, Pharrell was honored with the prestigious 2026 Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.
For Pusha, the coffee brand serves as a natural extension of that relentless work ethic. “Our customer is someone who builds things,” he concluded. “It’s all about the grind. It’s the first move before you build something. That’s why this brand exists.”
